Hello,
I will be going to college in the fall as a computer science major, and ive been looking at many laptops and found the Inspiron 14R (N411Z) it is the i5 edition with 6gbs of ram.
I just wanted to know if it would be strong enough for the things I'll need it to do. Ie. programming, photo editing, multimedia fusion 2, Microsoft office among other daily activities.
I appreciate any input, thanks in advance!

thanks for the responses,
I've also been looking at the inspiron 15R (N5110), the i5 edition, 6gbs of ram and a one terabyte hdd.
it costs the same as the 14R mentioned above.
i was wondering whats the biggest difference between the two, aside from the screen size?

It will be slightly better, but honestly if its the same price I would go for it just to future proof a little bit. On a regular basis youre not going to really notice a performance difference.

Honestly, not much. A few of specification options that won't matter much. The 15 inch has a number pad on the right and the 14 doesn't.

(Although for these price points I would suggest maybe looking into the Lenovo Ideapad Z series or the thinkpad Edge series)

Im going to have to agree with troll 123. You should carry around your desktop like a boss, and maybe get a small cheap latop for on the go stuff.
Laptops give you horrible performance per dollar compared to desktops.
But of course, whatever suits your needs.

Thanks for the replies everybody!
So I've been looking at the Lenovo laptops and the specs on the thinkpad edge and the ideapad z seem great for the price.
But I was wondering how good are Lenovo laptops, how durable and reliable?
Thanks again for the help guys!:)
