Hello,
i'm planning on buying a gaming laptop, i have these two options:
hp dv6-6180(i7 quad core), 750gb, 6gig memory(expandable to 16gb), ati 6770 1g

ideapad(i7 quadcore), 750gb, 8gig memory, nvidia 555m 1g

i would use it for gaming so i'm really concerned about cooling system and durability of laptop

Hello and welcome to the forums
First of all, don't expect to max out all games with either of these laptops.both have a mid-range GPU.
Anyway, both have pretty much the same specs but since HP laptops suck in terms of cooling,go with the IdeaPad

HP has been involved with a few class action lawsuits regarding the reliability of their laptops. That does not imply Lenovo laptops are perfect, but at least have not been slapped with lawsuits.

Overall the Radeon HD 6770m is a little faster than the GT 555M (Lenovo uses an overclocked GT 550M). Based on some reviews the CPU in the Lenovo Y570 gets to about mid 60C's, but I don't recall if that was with a dual core or quad core Intel CPU.
