I'm dealing with an HP laptop - a G60-530US - that shuts down frequently when it is moved. I have observed this on numerous occasions when it is not plugged in (when it's on battery power). I'm not sure if it has happened when plugged in. We tried getting a new battery, but that has not solved the problem.

Any advice on things to try - or places to look for a potential cause? Or am I looking at laptop surgery?

Thanks in advance.

The entire laptop is probably beyond saving. I think that you should replace it. Cause could be faulty connections between the battery and the motherboard. Replacing the battery doesn't matter if the connection between the battery and the rest of the system is damaged or worn.
