I have a Acer Aspire 3050 with win xp pro. My usb controllers was working fine until i opened a driver installation software by accident not mend for this pc. After this the usb devices is not recognized that i plug in. Now every time i tried to disable/update or uninstall the driver in device manager the notebook freezes. Any ideas?

click start
in the runbox type rstrui.exe
this will open system restore
select a restore point before your error.

right click on "my computer" and select manager
click on "device manager"
find you usb hub right click and unistall
along the top click on scan for hardware changes (small computer icon)
and windows should find it, and the wizard will walk you through the installation process
at the point were u select a driver, ensure you do not select "keep current driver"

I did already tried it that way but still it freezes up. I could not take it anymore and reinstall xp. Luckily i had dual boot with win 7 so i could copy my info from xp to win7. Thanks anyway. Don't have patients with struggling.
