I am able to play on medium/high on my laptop w/ i5-2450m and GT 540m, with 8GB RAM. I get about 20-35fps in the republic fleet and anywhere from 30-60 anywhere else. I have, however, overclocked my 540m to above-550m settings and disabled desktop composition. I guess, to counter that, I mostly game on a 23" monitor (Samsung Central Station, good dock for laptop gamers for when they're at home, check it out) with a 1920x1080 resolution so I about even out.

BTW, my laptop is an Acer AS4830TG-6806. Specs: here.

I game on the go and at home, and prefer to keep everything on one device: I'll play games at this desk on the Samsung monitor or I'll kick back on the couch/in bed, I like to move. The GT 540m works wonders: I also get 60+ FPS in Mass Effect 3 windowed with everything maxed out (including forced options through the nVidia control panel).
