USB from LAPTOP to LCD TV for audio?

Hello, I have connected my laptop to an LCD TVscreen via a DVI to HDMI cable(laptop does not support HDMI). As this does not carry sound over to the screen, plus my audio headphone jack on the laptop is broken, is there anyway to bypass that and send audio to the screen via i.e. USB?

Get a USB SOUND CARD (little thing that plugs into any usb slot)

The cheap ones (under £10) have the normal mic and headphone socket...

Then audio cables from there to your TV...
