Hi,

I'm looking to get a new laptop. I now have a Dell Studio that I have had to replace the optical drive in. I managed to find the service manual for it online and was able to do so reasonably okay. I have since had to replace the cpu fan in the Lenovo laptop I use at work. I was able to find manuals for it also. The Lenovo was much easier to work on than the Dell and it seemed to be better arranged and built.

I have read that finding service manuals for Asus is a problem, so I was going to shy away from that. How about Acer or Msi? Well, any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Was it my imagination that the Lenovo was better built?

Thanks

Yes, it is a Thinkpad t61. It's 5 years old and still going fine, except for the cpu fan, that is. Glad I found instructions to repair it.

How about Toshiba?
