Warranty or Graphics Card

On my budget I have a choice between getting a 3 year warranty (as opposed to the 1 year that comes with it) on a laptop or upgrading from a GTX560M to a Radeon 6990M graphics card and only getting the 1 year warranty. What should I do? Do Sager NP8170s break a lot? Can I depend on it to last at least 2 more years after the 1 year warranty runs out?

TL;DR: Is 2 years more warranty a better value than a Radeon 6990M (rather than a GTX560M)?
