Hello,
I have an option to buy a laptop for my son with 1.3GHz AMD processor E-300, combined with the AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics card , or another with the Intel Core i3 2.4GHz processor with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD. Any difference? which is better?

Depends on what he's doing with it. The i3 is better for almost everything...except gaming, where the E-300 would be better (but note, neither can do high end gaming anyhow...)

If all else were equal (price, size, battery, brand) - I'd go with the i3 for sure.

thanks for that pov. Same brand and model but different spec (4gb memory for the E-300; 6gb for the i3) and the E-300 is £70 cheaper. He won't use it for gaming. Still i3?

Hmmm, now that's a tough one. I would say i3 and more ram narrowly. i3 is a much better general use processor, but when you through the cost difference in, it gets narrower.
