Hi. my old netbook (ASUS Eee PC 1201N) has become a little too slow for me, i sometimes get frustrated with it. i have a very good desktop, but i need a good netbook for writing and multi-tasking (like downloading while i play a game), and for my niece and nephew to play videogames on. i'm looking at the Lenovo ThinkPad X120e. but i know very little about netbook hardware specs. so, i was hoping one of you could fill me in. how do they compare? is it worth the upgrade? i'm not rich, but i don't pinch my pennies either. only problem is to save up for some other things.

thanks.

Hello, HSovieticus; 'Netbooks are not a good match for multi-tasking activities.

PCMark Vantage overall scores:
1488 ASUS Eee PC 1201N Atom N330 1.6Ghz dual core
2558 Lenovo ThinkPad X120e $450 Zacate E-350 1.6Ghz dual core (E-240 single core will not match Atom N330 perf)
You'd be looking at about a 70% performance upgrade with the X120e over 1201N.
-> But it's still a very low performance score. You'll have to decide if it's enough for you.

If you look at a Llano A4-3300M 1.9-GHz APU system you're looking at something closer to 150%...

3828 HP Pavilion g4 $379 Llano A4-3300M 1.9-GHz dual core
3784 Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E425 $499 Llano A4-3300M 1.9-GHz dual core

by multitasking, what i meant was this: downloading on the netbook while i play games on the desktop. but your reply is still useful, so thanks. i'll take a look at those other ones.
