Solved! Nvidia sound card not working

Hello,
my laptop is 2 months old.yesterday as i switched it on it gave a strange crackling sound and a very loud beep.I switched the laptop off and when i switched it on again my sound icon only displayed the webcam virtual sound and not the sound card.Even though in device manager the sound card is enabled and it says the device is working correctly.What could be the problem?

delete the sound card from hardware manager and rescan for new hardware. if sound card gets detected it should work, if not then you got a dead sound chip.

another possibility is the speakers got burned out

regardless, seeing how this is a fairly new laptop, if the HW manager trick doesn't fix it for you, contact your vendor for warranty support
