my toshiba satellite l505 s6946, F8 (wireless switch button) will not turn on. It is not picking up any wireless connections. Please Help!

Check your device manager. If there is a wireless adapter on device manager and it is enabled and you still cannot pick up wireless hotspot, make sure that there is actually a network there and the SSID is show to all.

the wireless adapter is showing in device manager...i've tried pressing FN+F8 but nothing is working.....seemed to stop after a windows update...i even did a system restore but still no wireless....my other laptop picks up my ssid connction fine

I am having the same problem. Can't turn on wireless. Driver is there saying it's enabled and working but it's not turning on or picking up any connection. I can access with an Ethernet cable though.

having same problem here, after update wireless is gone.
Light next to the switch is off.
Wireless LAN card is showing in Device Manager.
I reinstalled drivers.
tried 3 wifi access points no change!!!
Please share solution if you know one.
