How is the performance of 3d working on laptop i7 and configure i should prefer?

i7 per se is a great CPU, but if you plan to work in 3D you should look into a decent GPU for hardware acceleration

Any i7 with Quadro or Firepro GPU cards will suffice. The speed of processor and level of GPU is based on what type of 3D work you do.
