Hi
I have an Acer 1360 laptop and I get the message operating system not found.
I checked the BIOS and it recognises the CD/DVD Drive but not the hard drive (HDD Model Name: None) Have changed the hard drive for one that I know was working. The original hard drive I formated so it is clean with no partitions.
Could there be a virus in the Bios if so how can I check.
Thank You
Mrrigga

Hi,
Try applying pressure with your fingers just below the keyboard to the left or right of the touchpad when booting into the BIOS. It may require one or two attempts but if you get it right you`ll be reconnecting the chip that controls the drives and other stuff and you`ll see the drive listed and it should then boot normally all the time you can keep the pressure on. This is a common problem with Acer laptops and other boards where the solder to chip joints become dry (XBOX 360 RRoD etc,.) I clamped my laptop to the bench with a squeeze or `easy clamp` to get it to work long enough to retrieve data etc, `hope this is helpful
