Sudden shut down laptop

my laptop has started shutting down number of times.what could be the reason? Please help.

My first inclination would be to say that it is overheating, but without knowing more about your machine it is difficult to tell. How often does it shut down, and can you turn it on without a problem after it has shut down?

Could you please provide some more information? Such as the following:
