Hi,

Does anyone know if there's EFI based software interface in an Acer Aspire 5251-1513, Acer JE50_DN motherboard, Acer 2.14 bios?
Is there a sure way of checking to see if it exists?
Have sent an E to Acer and googled for days.

Thanks

Thanks for the support. I have visited those pages much but none of it seems to address EFI, perhaps it's my lack of expertise. I got the service guide and it references UEFI in many instances for post codes. Again, I have no clue about this stuff, perhaps those refs are applicable to NOT my beast.

EFI because in going with an alternate backup utility, where I meet all requirements, it's built-in WinPE builder boots me to a bsod. The vendor claims it doesn't support EFI and that that is most likely the reason. Thing is, if I if use the same builder on my 10 y/o laptop with XP (surely no EFI), I'm able to use it's WinPE disc fully on my Acer. A side note, my own OS builds a working one via dos but of course it lacks the backup utility.

Since you quoted my chipset, I thought I'd paste part of a report from a bench marking utility:
