Win 7 on Dell Latitude e5520

I've encountered a strange issue with my new laptop Dell Latitude e5520 , It can't read the content of a Win 7 installation DVD , on Win Xp machine it's reads fine , but not on the laptop.Even after installation from a USB drive it still reads as empty disk .

Thank you for your reply , actually I never thought it will be such a simple answer......
It does reads CDs But not DVDs . I"ll have to replace DVD rom
