hey guys, i have an HP G42-376TX which runs a Core i3 370M @ 2.40GHz.

The laptop came with a 2GB DDR3 module, so I recently got myself a set of Kingston 2x4GB of DDR3 RAM rated at 1333Mhz.

I've read that the 370M supports memory at a max of 1066Mhz and would like to know if there's anyway i could make my system run the RAM at 1333 instead of the max 1066 supported by my chip?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

thanks.

First of all there is very little gain to upping the RAM speed - like ~1%. If your BIOS allows you to adjust the RAM speed you might be able to up the frequency but most laptop BIOS are very limited in adjustments. It may not even support 8 GB. of RAM. You should check the User's Manual.
