Ati mobility radeon hd 9700 graphik

It maybe a software issue or a hardware issue.

Try resetting Windows XP back to it's original factory settings. That means using the recovery discs to re-install Windows XP. Backup any important data on the C: Drive first though.

It could also mean that the video card has finally died. The Mobility Radeon 9700 was released back in 2004. I am actually surprised that it lasted that long. Gaming laptops usually die faster than regular laptops because of the heat generated by both the CPU and GPU.

It might be time for a new laptop. It is considered a very weak video card today so even the Intel HD 3000 graphics core is more powerful than that powerhouse from 2004. The Intel HD 3000 graphics core can be found in any laptop that uses a 2nd Core i3/i5/i7 laptop which is known as "Sandy Bridge". Examples are Core i3-2130m, Core i5-2140m, Core i7-2620m. The "2" means 2nd generation.
