In desperate need of a new Laptop HELP!!

Looking for the best laptop, willing to pay as much as $1000-$1200. I do a lot of music production on my laptop(Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5974), which isn't that bad but I can only use but so many plug-ins(like 2 or 3) at a time. It sucks when your trying to get some work done and the computer cant keep up, making save unfinished, leaving me extremely vexed at times. Instead of speeding up my laptop i'd rather buy a whole new one completely.Like i said early, I'm in dire need of high performance, not worried about Hard drive space seeing as i have jump drives and a portable laptop. PLZZ!! If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate opinions from people who actually know what they're talking about, rather than accepting advice from someone with a good sales pitch.

Just a thought: Have you thought about a small form factor desktop computer instead? You'd get better overall performance using desktop CPUs.

@ ~$300 less this Dell XPS 15 Core i5 $670 deal would also do very well for your needs.

Dell XPS 15 L502X (Sandy Bridge) Review - note this review model was heavily upgraded with quad core CPU, high res LCD screen, Blu-Ray play and more. But the review does a good job explaining the standard chassis features and showing what it looks like.
