Why does my acer notebook not fully charge on the power

Hello,
my acer notebook used to fully charge on power and show as 100% charged after being plugged in for a few hours eg overnight. Now it is only charging to a max of 63%. Why?

How old is the battery? Do you see a manufacturing date on it anywhere?

Old batteries do not always take a full charge sd they oxidize. You can try running the battery until it is completely dead and then recharging to see if this helps.
