Any, so long as it's portable

Uh, 1280x1024 minimum?

Desktop replacement

Anything is fine.

Assassin's Creed, CoD MW, Dragon Age II, Starcraft II and other upcoming games at any setting, so long as the FPS is smooth.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Minor video editing.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
500 GB.

2-3 years. 4 is possible though.

DVD, do not need Blu-ray.

No brands in particular.

California, USA. Important, because state laws charge me a 9% tax on Newegg.

Okay, I have a 1200 budget, but I would really like to cut it down as much as possible. If I could get a few options at different price ranges with some significant cons listed for the lower priced ones, I'd appreciate it.

There's not a laptop available today (that I can find) that isn't widescreen (16:10 or 16:9), so 1600x900 would probably be good, if 1920x1080 is too costly.

Here's a nice 15.6" screen for $1,034.99 from MicroCenter (there are a few in Cali).

They have a 17.3" version also, but that's over your $1200 limit.

That one has a 3GB dedicated video memory and as most 17", room for two HD's. But that one would last you quite a while also, they actually both would.
