Lockout from compaq laptop

Hello,
my dog ate my laptop charger and i was without a charger for 60 days and my laptop has been deactivated and i just got to new charger and it ask for a password and i dont knpw what it is. how do i reactivate my laptop if i dont know what the passsword is since i got it forma rent to own place

Also, is it a problem when you are trying to get into Windows, or is it a password from BIOS?
