Hello,
I have an HP nc4010 laptop. When I press the power button to turn it on, the battery light blinks for a few seconds, it makes noise like it's about to start up, and then the wire light flashes on for a second and then everything stops. This happens when the battery is in and but also when the power adapter is plugged in with the battery out. Any ideas as to how to fix this problem? Thanks a bunch!

Your laptop is dead. Something on the motherboard was probably fried. It's time to get a new laptop, motherboard's aren't worth replacing unless you have a bunch of expensive componenets that cannot function without the same type of MB...

Sorry.
