Solved! Gaming Laptop around 800 Dollars

Hello tomshardware forums, I need some help picking out a gaming Laptop which I will use for Starcraft 2 and College!


What I do..
Starcraft 2
Multitask
School Related work

What am I looking for...minimum:
i5 processor or quad core
500GB (
atleast 17 inch screen ( if you can't find one, i could live with a 15.6)
high res
mid-high range gaming graphics card equal to or greater than Radeon 6650(nvidia or radaeon)

Estimated Cost ~800 (This seems like the more obvious choice but the 15.6 inch screen is really holding me back)

Questions Please answer!!!

1) Is it worth it to get 7200 RPM vs 5400 RPM (what are the advantages)

2) Do I need the 2 year warranty (100 dollar fee)

3) How far could i overclock a i5-2410 (2.3GHz)

4) Recommend me some cooling pads please

5) If there is a better laptop for around 800 please post here.

2. No.
3. You don't.
4. Not needed. Just use a solid surface when you use the laptop.
5. Not at this moment.

So a cooling pad is not necesarry even while playing starcraft 2 and other demanding games? and do you recommend laptop 1 or 2 posted in the original post

The only reason a cooling pad would be needed is if the laptop overheats. No overheating = no laptop cooling pad required.

I have no preference between the two laptops. It's your choice anyway.
