Inspiron 1200 help

My Dell Inspiron 1200 is not getting any power whatsoever I checked the power cord and it's okay. When you plug it up nothing lights up and nothing works I changed the power jack on the motherboard but it's still doing the same thing could it be the battery or do I need to change the motherboard

If it's only the battery the laptop should run OK with the battery removed.
