How to lower your computers core temperature

Hello, I've tried and tried and tried to keep my computer from contantly overheating, but no matter what I do nothing works. I have an ice pack under it, I have the window open, I have a fan next to it to make sure it has air flow, but my core temperture is always around 90c!
From what I've seen on here, that is just not normal at all!
Please help me!

(BTW my computer is an acer laptop.)

What model of Acer computer? How old is it?
When the computer is sitting idle, what are the core temps then?
