Hello,

I have been searching to buy a new laptop for gaming recently, and have been at a loss. I know what/how to build a desktop, but laptops are a whole new ballgame. I am aiming to buy a 15.6" gaming orientated laptop, and looking for some community feedback on several retailers/websites/brands on what is the best overall deal/experience. The sites I'm looking at are
- ibuypower
-cyberpowerpc
-powernotebooks

all three look allright, but I have heard horror stories from ibuypower and cyberpowerpc. So I was just thinking of shelling out some extra money to buy straight from ASUS or Sager for a gaming laptop.

Feedback greatly appreciated!

+1. I just purchased a Sager from Xotic PC. Great experience and great customer service.

Personal experience tells me XoticPC, OriginPC, aand Dell XPS/Alienware are all good and liked by the people who have bought ..
but I have to say that I have purchased using JP over at xotic pc and it was a smooth all-around process. did not feel that he was trying to point me to what they wanted to sell, but more find what would fit what I asked for..

Another +1 although I dealt with Brett. I was trying to find out what I needed and he did not try to sell me on the more expensive viseo card. I probably would have bought it if he did so don't tell him. :non:

I have been researching a new laptop for a few weeks now. I had my eye on the Asus G73. I love the look and the specs but the thing is just huge. I took the advice here and checked out XoticPC. I must say I have not found such wide variety of high end customizable laptops at such competitive prices as XoticPc. I ordered from them this evening. I went for a customized laptop based on the Clevo P150HM.

Drop the 3820, its just a waste of money, spend that on a better gpu, recommend the 7970m or the 680m (if you can afford) or the 675 mx. The 675m is old and power hunger.

You probably won't need 16 gb or ram unless you are rendering or video editiing, etc drop that down to 8.

I usually buy on Newegg.com. they are a gaming websites with lots of gaming laptops and related components. I heard that they have some global exclusive launch on some gaming laptops already. MSI GS, Aorus X7, etc. seems very good customer review on those laptops.

the newest GPU right now is GTX880 8GB Video memory. very powerful. the Aorus comes with dual graphics, looks real cool because it's thin and light gaming laptop.

the only thing not good for a gaming laptop is it's too expensive, usually high end one will be around $1500+ even $2000+ some are $3999, OMG.
also, Alienware is cool but much more expensive than same specification laptops from other brand, Asus, MSI, Lenovo, etc.
