Hello all, it's already been two years since my last inquiry here (see this thread : http/www.tomshardware.com/forum/51853-35-magnet-screen )
So hay, my old MS-10342b laptop needed a retirement plan and i bought a nice G53SW-XN1 from newegg but let's get to topic shall we
I want to setup that old MDG laptop as a backup oriented "server" linked to usb storage and would prefer not letting it run 24/7 but instead be able to WOL. Thing is the BIOS on that beast is dated from 06 and doesn't seem to have WOL function, aaaaannnnd google seems to think that laptop barely ever existed considering the lack of information.
So two things! 1) can you find a BIOS update available for that MS-10342b (also called MS-1034 i think), cuz I definitively can't, or else 2) can you flash it with some homebrew BIOS?!
Here is some info:
Motherboard Model: MS-1034
Chipset: i945GM rev 3
Southbridge: 82801GHM (ICH7-M/U) rev B0
BIOS: AMI A1034IMD V1.70 10/24/06
there MAY be an updated bios out there, since this shady link cites a 7.02 version, but there is no info on the motherboard -.- : http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/68070
Oh and, thanxs
