Thinking of trading my gaming tower.

About $600 invested, worth more, so I can get about $600 for it.

This guy says he paid $2,200 for his sony vaio laptop.

it's the sony vaio vgn-fw 560

6gb ram, 500gb hard drive

blue ray player, dvd burner

17.4 inch screen (1600x900)

2.13ghz intel core 2 duo

ATI 4560 w/512mb

Is it worth it?

I'm just scared it's going to break and I can't easily replace one part like I can with the tower.

Here is a picture he sent me of it.

The 4650 can play most games with low-medium settings. It's not a terrible card, just certainly not as good as the GTX 260 you have (but you knew that). I just don't see that Sony as being worth the price, especially since what you are getting is outdated. Just for kicks there are 3 laptops on newegg priced from $599-699 that would all be better options if you just sold or parted out your desktop.

"Sony Vaio FW is available in titanium gray and powder white, with standard model starts at about $1,000, while the FW premium will go for around $1,750. "

And I updated my rig, I have a GTC 260 now

That's still less than his quoted $2200 when his specs aren't any different than the standard model from what I can tell. Also, if you have a GTX 260 paired with a quad core processor you would be trading down. Both the Core2 and the HD 4650 in the laptop are much slower than what you currently have.

I know they are slower, but I want a laptop.

I already figured I won't be able to play any games on a laptop
