LoL under $1000 you can't buy laptop with 8 or 12GB RAM. You can buy only 4GB RAM under that price, however, 4GB RAM is enough for games like CoD MW2 or Crysis 2.

Hey buwish, Asus K52JT-B1 is very nice laptop, but 1.73 Ghz is not enough for cool games like Crysis 2 and it will not be able to play Battlefield 3 when it will come out. Crysis 2 system requirments are below, however, Crysis 2 is made from Cry Engine 3, and Battlefield 3 is made from Frostbite Engine 2, which graphics are better, so here are Crysis 2 system requirments:

Intel Core 2 Duo (2.2GHz)/ AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ processor
2GB of RAM
1GB Video RAM

I suggest a laptop based on Huron river with a 520M(for savings) or a 540M(for budget performance).

4GB is enough for gaming (Design programs may need 8GB)

a 250GB budget hardrive (around $60)

And a i7 2630 GM for all the processing power you''ll need

Punch those stats into this builder throw in windows home premium and a WLAN and you've got a gaming laptop for 1,400 AMD

I might suggest going with the HP DV6Z Quad Edition laptop that they have out now. With some options, you can get your 8 gigs of RAM, and AMD quad core A8-3510MX 2.5 GHz processor, 1 GB Radeon GPU and a 7200 RPM 640GB hard drive. It also has a few free upgrades and you get $150 off the price instantly. Or, if you want better graphical specs, you can just forgo the 8 gigs of RAM and opt for the free upgrade to 6 gigs and then get the full HD screen instead. Overall, it seems like a great laptop for the money. Plus, you can get a free Xbox 360 with it. :D

I'd get the Asus G53SW-XN1 Laptop: i7 2630QM, GTX 460M, 6GB DDR3, 500GB 7200rpm, 15.6" LED (1920x1080), 8-Cell battery, $793 After $100 Rebate + Free Shipping

The GTX 460M is a high-end mobile card. It can play the majority of games on high at 1080p. They're discussing it in slickdeals here if you want more info: http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/58572/newegg-asus-g53swxn1-laptop-i7-2630qm-2.0ghz-quad-core-cpu-6gb-ddr3-500gb-hdd-15.6-led-1920x1080-wifi-n-8cell-win-7-prem

Of course...this tread is dead, so this is kinda pointless.
