My choices are -
Lenovo Ideapad y560p Rs 57k

I7 intel core (2.0 ghz) , 640gb hdd , 15.6" led backlight
1gb ATI radeon 6570
etc.

Dell XPS (15)
i7 (1.73) ghz with turbo boost upto 2.93 ghz
500 gb hdd
nvidea GT 435m

Which will be a betr buy?( Rem. mostly i wnt tht fr GAMING)

2nd thing .
Will dell xps 15 wit core i7 support nvdea optimus technology or ati switchable graphics or both ??

Solution
Get the lenovo laptop. There service is good. Its not on site(please confirm it at the shop) but there depot warranty is also good. And the hardware specs you are getting are quite good. Why settle for a year old processor when you are getting the new one???
Hello Speedy1994;

If the Lenovo has the Core i7-2630QM CPU it's a much better choice than the Dell.
Review Intel Sandy Bridge Quad-Core processors
Lenovo IdeaPad Y560p review It does not have switchable graphics. Surfing with WLAN 4 hours

Review Dell XPS 15 Notebook Does not have switchable/Optimus graphics. Core i7 740QM does not have an integrated GPU anyway. Surfing with WLAN 2 hours

For all practical gaming purposes the video card are very close in performance.
AMD Radeon HD 6570M review Windows 7 Experience Index - Gaming graphics score 6.7
3DMark 06 score 8862

NVIDIA GeForce GT 435M review Windows 7 Experience Index - Gaming graphics score 6.6
3DMark 06 score 7510

fixed link for GT 435

If you're gaming, I'm pretty sure the ATI is Direct X 11 capable. Is the Nvidia Dx11 capable? That may be more important down the line.

With regards to the Lenovo, does it come with a SATA port? If so, you should wait until the beginning of March to do this purchase due to the Sandbridge recall. The SATA port may eventually fail according to Intel.

Also, can you convert your budget to USD, it might make it easier for people to find better deals for you. If my guess is right your budget might be able to handle a better resolution for your screen.

Have you thought about looking at ASUS or Acer vendors in your area? ASUS seems to specialize in gaming laptops while Acer usually seems to do better with pricing for computers of similar spec.

Check out the G53 or N61 series for ASUS in your area. Maybe even the G72 series. There are no ASUS direct outlets here in the US, but you may have one. With all the new chips and cards out the prices should be dropping soon.

Lastly, never rule out refurbs. You can get a lot of computer for a low price by going that route.

Did they also mention you'd have to buy a 3D TV to do that? You can't do it on the laptop LCD screen.
ATI/AMD GPUs 5xxx and above do the same thing but call it HD3D.
If you want a laptop with a 3D screen you're looking at something like the ASUS G73JW-3DE

The laptops costing something is US doesnt cost same here. Most of the laptops costing 1000$ in US costs 1400-1600$ in India.
Although MSI and Asus are good companys and have products in India its difficult to find there Gaming laptops. There laptops costing Rs.5000 in US costs here Rs.90000 and you really have to search from them(as some are selling the shipped in version) and there service is an issue(only available in metro cities and only 1 service centre in that city)
The i7 2630qm does offer a turbo boost to 2900Hz and also has an integrated Intel HD 300 graphics processor(but as lenovo doesnt offer switching technology i dont think it will be of any use). The purpose of switchable graphics is to increase battery life as dedicated GPU use more power than inbuilt.HD6570m is basically an HD 5750 with DDR5 memory. Its better than the GT435m and has an Opengl 4.1 vs OpenGl 4.0 in GT435m.And Gt435m has GDDR3 memory compared to GDRR5in ATI.So overall Performance wise Lenovo Y560p will be a lot better with a 640gb 7200rpm hard disk. And take that extra warranty for 1k(20$) its a steal deal and you will have no problems. And i think lenovo has JBL speakers. They rOCK.

And did i say that 2630QM should be on a level (or even faster) than a Core i7-920XM Quad-Core which was earlier 2nd fastest processor.

Hey i think u shud check out the ASUS n53sv once....i own a lenovo, and i'm not really pleased with its performance...though the lenovo y560p has very gud specs, u shud luk at the asus once because they are known for their superior build quality and cooling....

Also, while posting in an international forum, be aware that most laptops which cost around $1000 in d US, will cost around $1500 here (we are a deprived lot).!!!
Also, most models from major models will have cooling issues.....

if you can get the Asus model for your budget its awesome. But there service times are high.Usually a month if motherboard or any other major thing fails.

And i think it will cost Rs.90000 in India if they launch it.If you are getting it at that price its better to have your piece shipped from USA and pay the taxes and it still would be cheaper. If you get it shipped to India the approx total cost(including custom and duties) will be around Rs.80000
