Asus ux50v battery wont charge

Hello, have the same problem, I did notice on my the battery is swelled a little and it does not fit.
are this laptops defective this is not normal I have an HP from 15 years and it still works.

If the battery is showing signs of physical deterioration it would be a good idea to replace it. Lithium batteries have been known to cause fires.
