So i got a budget of about 1500 and i have few laptop picks

ASUS G73JH-X5 17.3 inch @ $1,329.99

# Intel i7-720QM (1.60 GHz Quad-Core with Turbo Boost up to 2.8GHz)
# 8GB DDR3 1066MHz , 4 SODIMM Sockets, up to 8GB
# 640GB (320GB x 2) 7200RPM HDD; Blue-Ray Disk Combo Drive; 802.11 b/g/n
# ATI 5870 Graphics with 1G GDDR5; Windows Home Premium 64-bit Operating System
# 17.3-Inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) LED Display; 2.0M Webcam; 1 YR

for 1,449.99 G73JW-XA1 i get same specs as the one above but with the nvidia 460m and 8 gigs of ram at 1333 MHz

and

ASUS G53JW-XA1 15. 6 inch 1820x 1080 @ $1,349.00
* Intel Core i7-740QM (1.73GHz Quad-Core with Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz)
* 6GB DDR3 1066MHz, 4 SODIMM Sockets, up to 16GB; Illuminated Keyboard
* Nvidia GTX 460M Graphics with 1.5GB GDDR5
* 500GB HDD (7200RPM); Super-Multi Optical Drive; 802.11 b/g/n; 1x USB 3.0; 3x USB 2.0; 8-in card
reader; 2.0MP Webcam
* 15.6-Inch Full HD (1920x1080) LED Display; Windows Home Premium 64-bit Operating System

15 or 17 inch screen? i always like to have a 17 inch screen but the 17 inch comes with the 5870 and i have read bad things about it that asus blames ati drivers and ati blames bios/ vbios. i have used a 16 inch and i dont think il find much of a difference with a 15 inch screen. I will be using this laptop for playing game and watching some movies/shows.

i beleive 5870 has a slight edge but the 460 version of the asus g73 has 1 usb 3.0 the 5870 does not and the 460 version has 2 mouse clickers the 5870 has one big one on a tilt thingy where you have to press it at the outer most sides for it to work

i love my 5870 model is teh usb 3 and better mouse clickers worth the 1-2% loss is gpu performance idk its up to you i dont have anything with usb 3 so i didnt care and wasnt going to pay for it and i use a usb wireless mouse so the clickers didnt bother me at all.

o an if your looking for portability forget about the g73 this things is a monster but its awesome its hudge and insanely heavy i bring mine back and forth to school and its a pain and ppl look at it like what the hell is that monstrosity lol. and it only has a 2hr battery life if all your doing is webserfing and work/excell crap.

NVIDIA cards tend to run a bit hotter, but not so much that it will make a lot of difference in terms of total thermal output. In regard to performance they are essentially dead even, but I'd give a slight edge to the 5870 in this case. Have a look at the GPU link in my sig for a comparison between the two benchmark wise.

gsod um ya once i did on my first one but thats because i baught it when it first came out so i waited till the 2nd batch hit the market and got that one and never ever had a problem. even thought the first one never did it a 2nd time i didnt want to take the chance.

but as soon as you get it you gota download drivers 11 otherwise a lot of games wont work. i had problems the first few days 10.1 where out but 11 is awesome.

if you play ffxiv get a laptop cooler i play on all standard with everything on and needed one but if you only play wow then raise the back up like an inch with something and you can max it out no problems.
