HP Compaq 610 Laptop - Need Power Jack

Hi,

I've just been given a HP Compaq 610 Laptop (not N610 or N610c) with a faulty power jack (the component soldered to the motherboard, not the power adapter) and I'm trying to find a replacement jack so I can have a go at changing it. But I can't seem to find a part number anywhere. I've trawled Google for hours!

I've got the serial number and parts number for the laptop....

S/N - CNU9247YT5
P/N - NX548EA#ABU

but they've not been helpful.

if anyone knows a compatible part or can point me in the right direction it'd be a great help!

If it looks like a standard two-conductor coaxial low voltage socket these are available in various barrel sizes and one should fit the motherboard. Suggest you take the power supply unit to an electronics hobby store and see what they have that fits it.
