i recently purchased a used , model HP Pavilion n5425 Notebook PC that does not have wi-fi, i have a wireless router on my main home desktop pc and would like to know how or IF i can connect the used laptop to wi-fi off of my main pc? or do i need to purchase some kind of wireless card?

I did not find any device driver software for an internal WiFi card for this laptop on the HP driver download page.
And no mention of WiFi in the Startup or Reference guide.

You could try a USB WiFi adapter - just make sure it's one that will work with USB 1.0 which is what I think your laptop uses.
Example: Belkin F5D7050
Under the Features heading it says: Fits any standard 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 USB slot
