Hello,
what is the difference in performance of these and how do they differ.

Laptop = Notebook

Laptops generally have:
1. LCD screens are approximately 12.1" - 18"
2. Weight is generally over 3.5lbs
3. Uses either a "power hungry" desktop CPU or a power efficient "mobile" variant.
4. Has integrated video like Intel GMA 4500MHD / AMD Xpress video. Or uses mobile versions of desktop video cards (and weaker as well).
5. Can be used to play computer games if the video card is powerful enough.

Netbook:
1. Generally smaller than 11" LCD screen
2. Lighter at 3.5lbs or less
3. Power efficient CPU designed specifically for small electronic devices (weaker than mobile CPUs)
4. Integrated video is weak compared to what can be had in a laptop.
5. Not recommend for gaming. Best for surfing or doing some light office work.
