Solved! How to use a recovery disc on an aspire 5100

System required a password, I entered 00000000. Thereafter I continue to see PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM

I have restore discs

You may not have a working hard disk drive.
That 'Media Test Failure' seems to indicate a problem with the hard disk drive.
'Check cable' would be a hint to make sure the HDD is connected to the power/data cable.
