additional info

the system seems to ignore the CMOS..in that it will go seek the drive even though it says to access the CD first and the drive 7th..so the same goes when I try to reinstall windows to the drive..it only follows the CMOS after it accesses the drive and I can not enter the HDD User Password.

This seems utterly absurd to me and I would not believe it myself if another would write it..WHY HAVE A CMOS if it isnt being followed?

is the only way to fix this remove the HD and slave it to another unit to format it? I have read on the net that THAT wont work either ..that the drive lock will remain even on another unt..

the only fix is get a new drive?..well thats )@)@&$^@$#)&@ to me
