Solved! Laptop to use with 42" HDTV flat screen

I have Samsung HP-T4254 HDTV (42" plasma, PC Resolution of 1024x768 @60Hz).

I will be getting a laptop ($600) and interested in using the HDTV as the monitor. Which laptop will be ideal (HDMI output). Mainly web surfing, and watching DVD from laptop? What compromise is expected?

Specific model from Newegg or Amazon will be appreciated. thanks,
