Can a single core processor be upgraded to a dual core?

Not unless you buy a new processor, upgrading processors it laptops can be very difficult, and some motherboard will not allow you to remove the old processor. It would be best to contact the manufacter for details regarding a CPU upgrade, and what processors are supported.
