Hello,
What kind of games can a laptop with these specs play?

Processor: Intel Core i5-460M
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Display: 14" WXGA LED(1366x768)
VGA: Nvidia GeForce 310M DDR3 1GB
Hard Drive: 500GB HDD 5400rpm

Will it be able to play high end games at at least low settings? Or even will games like sims 3 run smoothly?

Last, can current lenovo laptops last for a long time?

Hello and welcome to the forums
GT 310M is a low-end card so don't expect a great performance from it.You can play the latest games on lowest settings with lowest resolution though.
And Sims should run fine on medium settings.
And about your last question,Lenovo makes good decent laptops with good build quality so it should last you for a good 2-3 years(or even more)
