How to fix acer laptop

Hi,i have an acer aspire 5315 when i switch it on the acer logo appears and at the bottom left of the screen it says press f2 to go to set up then prepare boot to os,then says windows failed to start, this may be because....then stats going through files for 2 or 3 minutes then shuts down and starts again repeating the same process over and over again any help would be great p.s. i dont know anything about p.c.s

From that description, your system appears to be blue screening. Power on the machine and hit F8 until you get a menu listing a bunch of different options. One of them near the bottom of the list should say "Disable Automatic reboot on system failure". Choose that and let the computer boot up as you have been doing. When the bluescreen appears, write down the error code displayed on the screen and post it here. The part we need is near the top, and should be in the form:

STOP: 0x0000000XX (0xXXXXXXXXX, 0xXXXXXXXXX, 0xXXXXXXXXX, 0xXXXXXXXXX)

The code immediately after STOP:, that appears outside the brackets is what we need to figure out what is causing the problem.

hey there,
i seem to be having a very similar problem. im not the most gifted person when it come to pc's.... My computer blue screens and wil not start up. i even went so far as to use the factory reset. the code which is displayed after the ***STOP is 0x0000003B

Any help, or suggestions would be much appreciated.
