Hi there, i own a Asus G50VT-X5 with the 1366x768 16:9 glossy display. I swear i had found an article a while back that some had luck swapping in a 1920x1080 screen. I can not find the article anymore, and cant find a screen online that has the CCFL bulb, any 1080 screens i find are LED lit. Did i just imagine this or has someone found a screen that works? Any links or info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There was another person who successfully swapped a 16:10 1680x1050 into this very laptop. So yes, you can swap lcd's to increase the resolution as this gpu does support higher res.

Yea forget this guy :fou:
I was going to try these :pt1cable:
screen- http://www.hootoo.com/171inch-lg-lp171wu6tla1-laptop-lcd-screen-p-23755.html
LCD module- http://laptopparts.vivotechnology.net/items/item.aspx?itemid=946083
Then I wanted to trim the bezel nice and neat to allow for the 17" screeen 9800 gts can handle the resoloution.I looked at the connections. They were both 40 pin but would have to trace the wires  Try notebook review I think there has been lcd swap but not that good a screen.By the way if u can get that screen to work it's true hi def ;-o

I have successfully swapped displays several times. as long as the connector pin-assignment is the same and the power requirements are OK, it will work assuming the bezel and mountings are the same.
that is how I took my D830 from Xx800 to 1920x1200..
