HI guys

Im looking for a HP G62 or G72 laptop, with i3 processor, dedicated graphics card (doesnt have to be that strong but decent), 15.6in screen and 3GB+ Ram. Not over £550

(if there is another decent brand with these specs feel free to suggest this).

If anyone knows of one would be great thank you

While there is a difference, with the 4250 being slightly better, the Intel GMA HD is decent enough that i'm not sure you'll see too big a difference: You're going to want to play the game on low regardless...

I bought HP laptop G62-347NR,
AMD AthlonII P340 2.2Ghz
3 GB RAM
320GB HDD @5400 rpm
ATI mobility radeon HD 4250

I am able to play almost all the major games at Medium graphics for 20-25 fps and at Lows for around 40 fps, like CRYSIS 1 & 2, COD 4, NBA 2k10, RISEN, WarCraft, Dirt 2 , FAR CRY2, so i have not come across a game which dosent run on it.

where some games do not even run in Intel HD graphics as it lacks some qualities...
So i recommend ATI

I don't recommend using Intel graphics for gaming of any kind. It doesn't even support antialiasing and the drivers are beyond atrocious. As for the performance difference, I did some fancy calculations and discovered that Mobility Radeons are 2.3x faster, on average, than their Intel GMA counterparts at the same price point. I have the specifics in one of my posts in my thread:

Hope this helps! :sol:

Have u tried Mafia II?? If not then try it out.
I hve tried 2 play DIRT2 nd Mafia II on i3 intel HD graphics but failed...

nfs shift runs on very very low res and minimal graphics but still dosent run smoothly
same for call of duty 4

Far Cry 2
Low Settings (1280×720) – Average: 20.33fps

World in Conflict
Low Settings (1280×720) – Average: 34fps
Medium Settings (1280×720) – Average: 11fps

Half Life 2 – Lost Coast
High Settings (1280×720) – Average: 49.49fps
High Settings + maximal AA and AF (1280×720) – Average: 31.62fps

Quake 4
High Settings (1280×720) – Average: 33.25fps
Ultra High Settings (1280×720) – Average: 31.15fps

:pt1cable: It also depends on the RAM available and the master CPU not only on the video GPU, if some one of you have tried with a better CPU and or RAM let me know
