Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question but I hope someone can help me. I've looked up information in this area but got mixed reports so I'm hoping someone can just explain it to me.

I've recently purchased a Tascam DR-40 Handheld 4-Track recorder. It can be powered with batteries or USB (it has a mini USB socket) but there are no external power connectors. I already have a USB charger which came with my HTC One X so I just wanna ask if it can be used for that? Here are the specifications:

Tascam DR-40 Power Requirements:

Provided by the USB bus power - AC100 ~ 240V ,50-60Hz
Power Consumption - 2.5W(Max.)

HTC One X USB charger:

INPUT: 100-240V ~ 22mA 50-60Hz
OUTPUT: 5V - 1A

I want to be able to meet the maximum power consumption requirement with my USB power adaptor because if I ever need to use phantom power, it will need to be able to support it.
Tascam has a USB Power Adaptor to go with this machine in the form of the PS-P515U, but that's their "one size fits all" solution for all their recorders which I thought might be overkill for the DR-40. Anyways, the specifications for that is: DC 5V 1.5A 7.5W

So, can I use my One X charger with this machine? Thanks a lot guys!
