1_What is your budget?
$800 max
2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
≥16"
3_What screen resolution do you want?
1080P would be ideal, but am willing to be flexable here.
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Size and weight matters little to me. Can't be too big imo.
5_How much battery life do you need?
At least an hour. Very used to working on plugged in laptops.
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes; Don't have any specific games in mind. Mainly enjoy FPS and Racing, with the rare RTS game finding some play time. I plan on playing them in as high as quality as possible, but I truly don't mind turning down details, so long as the resolution and framerate don't drop too far.
7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.)
Photoshop 7, watching movies mainly. Ability to edit videos would be nice to have, but not 100% needed. Also planning on using this for school, so something that's easy to type with that has a number pad is desirable.
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
I can always upgrade. Not concerned here. Already thinking I'd want to swap out to an SSDD down the line anyways.
9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
Nothing specific. Mainly been looking on newegg (link to one laptop at the bottom), but I'm not committed to them by any means.
10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
2+ years
11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
DVD is fine, blueray for the price would just be a bonus.
12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I really like the form of the newer Vios. The keyboard seems quite nice, with the independant, spaced out keys. Other than that, just something with a decent company behind them.
13_What country do you live in?
United States
14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.
Currently looking at the ASUS G60VX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220715) but definitely open to suggestions.
