Hi guys!

I have an older LG LH-T760IA
home theater system with 5.1 speakers and I was wondering if there is any way to use them through an
Asrock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard with integrated sound,
on the PC, for music and games.

What I did try before, was putting some cables from the motherboard into the dvd-player's ports, but that resulted in only stereo sound (and some noise in the background).
So what I thought of is, to leave the dvd player out,
take the speakers, use their cables (they dont have a Jack connection) and put them into some linking device or put Jacks on them, I don't know. (Sorry, I'm a complete noob at this area).

Please help me out with this, do you think I could make it work somehow?

Thanks for your answers in advance!

You can use the home theater speakers. You need to run the cables to receiver but you are still only going to get stereo because the receiver doesn't have the inputs for center, sub and rear speakers. You could get a used receiver that has the inputs and still use the speakers.
