Speaker Delay 5.1 Sony Speakers

I just purchased some 5.1 Sony Bravia speakers with a dvd player and hooked it up via optical out on my X-fi Creative Sound Titanium Fatal1ty Pro. I have about a half second delay to audio. Used a av sync test from youtube to confirm, any suggestions?

I have confirmed its the speakers and not the sound card, there is no delay with my tritton ax pro using optical digital
