Please provide some details of the performance of the atom processor in mini notebooks.
does it slow down /hang after a use of a few months ?
What is that cannot be done with an atom processor which cud b done with intel core duo ?
what is the difference basically in structure, features and performance ?

The atom processors are ultra mobile and consume less power, which in turn means that they are not going to put out the kind of performance that you would see from a mobile or desktop chip like a C2D. Essentially it all boils down to transistor count, which in this case the atoms do not have anywhere near the number of transistors that a full blown mobile or desktop chip has.

Atom processors are very low power and very cheap to make and very low performance. I am fairly sure the original atom 1.6GHz processors perform around the same a a pentium 3 1333MHz mobile processor.

They perform plenty fast. I have one as my media PC running Win 7 x86-64. There is no choppyness in the video playback while hosting a virtual machine in the background. Also, the performance does not equate to a 1.333GHz P3. They are very solid little processors.
